Lately I have embraced in my heart the most difficult to love, the Stalins the Pol Pots and all the rest, particularly the unknown ones, like the ageing racist. Who are we not to love unconditionally and forgive unconditionally, that is what I said to myself and instantly felt the difficulties of such feelings. I believe one must fully embrace the mystery of life and love it deeply, one must then accept all that is, that includes the unforgivable, if you examine history you will find from the despair they cause comes our hope for a good life. I believe that a world without dictators and despots, poverty, tragedy and sickness would have no need for our compassion. When we remember that our enemy is our best teacher then we can learn and be not like them, practice unconditional love and find ourselves in clear sky, finally at a new level and in that way experience a love which renews our soul completely.
