The Sacred Animals

The hawk soars high above, a messenger in the sky and offers me love and joyful moments,

A symbol of truth with eyes that never lie to me who embrace that special life,

Then lands and it’s claws grip on my shaman’s outstretched arm of a deep green,

Royal, loyal and true, natural love is not lost in immortal flame nor burns shame.

The wolf, the symbol of family, with loyal and true heart opened revealing heaven,

A guide to the spiritual one that has restarted, my heart once barely beating,

With a roar that shook the ground with a sound of meaning to me that makes sense,

Guardian of the earth who keeps us safe and sound and closer to the divine.

The dolphin, playful and free, a creature of the sea, is my messenger of harmony,

Sings a song that is delightful and a gift of presence, a blessing, an offering that is mine,

They say to honour and respect you, O guardian of the spirit, and all the animals,

In grace and loving embrace, I feel your symbols of strength, compassion and happiness.

O, red belly black snake, a creature of unknown allure your presence is pure,

As you slither and slide your spiritual significance to me is as a symbol of rebirth and renewal,

Forgiven your deceit, when you once offered our ancestors forbidden fruit, brought the darkness and duel,

Now you come again, to keeper our secrets, the wisdom grand, a welcomed fellow traveler in this new land.
